  • Below you will find links to newly acquired electronic books as well as various subject lists and library catalogs, to help you with your research.
  • When on campus you do not need a username and password for the Collegeville Digital Library, Oxford suite of databases, or the FirstSearch library catalogs.
  • When off campus you will need a username and password for the Collegeville Digital Library, Oxford suite of databases, and the FirstSearch library catalogs.

  • The Collegeville Digital Library is a collection of cross-searchable reference titles that offers quick and easy access to the full text of a variety of books that were previously available in print format only.
  • The Collegeville Digital Library currently includes the following references: Worship in the Early Church: An Anthology of Historical Sources; Targum of Psalms, Targum of Lamentations; Sacra Pagina: The Gospel of Mark, Hebrews, 1-3 John, First Corinthians.
  • Additional reference works and titles from the above series will be included in the Collegeville Digital Library as they become available.
    • To Access off campus: Click on the name of the database above to reach the welcome page. On the left side of the page, under “Welcome” click on “register” for first time users. On the “Register” page click on the “Register Individual” button in the middle of the page. On the “Register Individual” page fill out “Contact Details” and “Create your username and password” Leave the “Consume Token” field blank then click on the “register” button.
    • After registering you will receive a MetaPress ID number via email, which must be forwarded to the library in order to activate your access. The library will notify you via email when your account has been activated

Oxford Scholarship Online : access to full text of Oxford books on Religion and Theology- providing search capabilities, keywords and abstracts at the book and chapter level, plus reference linking from bibliographies and footnotes.

To Access: Click on the name of the database above to reach the welcome page. On the left side of page under “Subject Home Pages” click on “Religion” then click on a subject area for full text. Clicking on any other “Subject Home Pages” will provide abstracts only.

Oxford Biblical Studies Online : providing access to six essential Oxford editions of the Bible (Catholic Study Bible and Lectionary included) alongside commentary and annotations from other study Bibles seamlessly combined with reference material and primary texts.

To Access: Click on the name of the database above to reach the welcome page. Search by using the drop-down menus along the top of the page or click on any link of interest on the welcome page.

Oxford Bibliographies Online : focused, discipline-based annotated subject lists designed to identify reliable sources of information for your research (Citations only/Not full text).

In-depth search capability is available for the “biblical studies” subject area. For all other subject areas, an Introduction, General Overview and a list of Textbooks are provided.

To Access: Click on the name of the database above to reach the welcome page. Either click on the browse button for a listing of all entries or enter your query in the search field using a keyword or phrase within your selection.

Oxford Handbooks Online : contains content originally published in print as Oxford Handbooks. Oxford Handbooks contain in-depth articles by scholars which provide succinct snapshots on a topic, as well as offering original arguments. The “Religion” link provides full text. Other subject areas (Political Science, Philosophy, and Business & Management) provide abstracts only.
